Pre-Planning
For peace of mind, you are more than welcome to come out and discuss pet aftercare with us in advance. Pre-planning is something we take pride in. It gives us the opportunity to share with you our facility and educate you on all your aftercare choices.
As we discuss your options, you get to look at the advantages and disadvantages of each and then later reflect on what is best for you and your forever friend. When we have to say “good-bye” we become emotionally vulnerable and making decisions while in that state can be very difficult. Your veterinarian can also be a wealth of information. You have an established trusting relationship with them, and we invite you to involve them in the process as your advocate.
If you feel you are not able to make an immediate decision and you pet has already passed, that’s okay! Simply ask your veterinarian to hold your pet’s body for you for a couple of days, until you provide further instructions. Most veterinarians can do this without difficulty and are more than happy to aid with making final arrangements. Have questions, feel free to get in touch!
